| To assess Nigeria's preparedness for the country self assessment, and to provide technical assistance support to the national institutions and stakeholders engaged in the review process. |

| Activities included group discussions and interactions with various institutions and stakeholders:
a) Dialogue with the Naitonal Focal Point
b) Interaction with the Technical Research Institutions appointed to provide technical support to the review process in the four core areas of APRM
c) Interaction with the civil society organizations
d) Meeting with anti-corruption agencies
e) A working session with at the Supreme Court
f) Discussions with members of the Senate and House of Representatives
g) A working session with the civil service represented by the Permanent Secretaries and other top government officials
h) Discussions with the business community
I) A working visit during a courtesy call on His Excellency President Obasanjo
j) Participation in a APR National Stakeholders' Forum more specifically in a question-answer session on the APRM
k) The signing of the MoU on Technical Assessments and Country Review Visits.
L) A press conference and release of a joint communique. |

a) The ECA team made substantive recommendations for the improvement of the organizational structures and processes (These are reflected in the communique)
b) The ECA team had mutually rewarding interactions with various stakeholders that were instrumental in arriving at a common understanding of the APRM process and methodology. As a result the Nigerian self-assessment will commence soon, and the national report will be submitted to the APRM Secretariat in six months. |
